Le 8 juin, le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la FHCC, Tim Ross, a t\u00e9moign\u00e9 devant le Comit\u00e9 permanent des ressources humaines, du d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences, du d\u00e9veloppement social et de la condition des personnes handicap\u00e9es de la Chambre des communes pour informer le Comit\u00e9 sur les r\u00e9percussions de la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19 sur les coop\u00e9ratives d\u2019habitation. Il a indiqu\u00e9 que les coop\u00e9ratives d\u2019habitation sont des communaut\u00e9s fortes de par leur conception et qu\u2019elles ont pris les principes coop\u00e9ratifs \u00e0 c\u0153ur durant la pand\u00e9mie, en particulier en prenant soin de leurs communaut\u00e9s. Dans le contexte de la COVID-19 et de la reprise sociale et \u00e9conomique, nous croyons que le besoin pour des logements abordables continuera d\u2019augmenter. Voici les mesures que nous avons recommand\u00e9es au gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral : <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. int\u00e9grer le logement dans tous les plans de reprise \u00e9conomique et sociale<\/li>\n
  2. s\u2019engager \u00e0 mettre en place des programmes de soutien au loyer \u00e0 long terme<\/li>\n
  3. soutenir le d\u00e9veloppement de logements hors march\u00e9 et \u00e0 but non lucratif<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
