En l\u2019espace de quelques mois, M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall si\u00e9geait au conseil d\u2019administration de sa coop\u00e9rative. Elle vient r\u00e9cemment de terminer son quatri\u00e8me mandat \u00e0 titre de pr\u00e9sidente!  La mission de Payuk est de \u00ab\u00a0fournir un environnement de vie coop\u00e9ratif et s\u00fbr aux familles autochtones. Payuk est destin\u00e9 aux familles autochtones qui souhaitent vivre dans un environnement sans drogue, sans alcool et sans violence\u00a0\u00bb.  \u00abJ\u2019ai lu le guide et mon voisin a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 un ami de m\u2019expliquer de quoi il s\u2019agissait\u00bb, relate M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall. Lorsqu\u2019on lui a demand\u00e9 ce qui l\u2019a incit\u00e9e \u00e0 vouloir occuper ce poste au conseil, elle a r\u00e9pondu que c\u2019\u00e9tait d\u2019avoir son mot \u00e0 dire dans la fa\u00e7on dont la coop\u00e9rative est gouvern\u00e9e. \u00abNous avons notre mot \u00e0 dire dans la fa\u00e7on dont notre b\u00e2timent est g\u00e9r\u00e9, nous sommes plus ind\u00e9pendants, plus stables. Nous nous entraidons.\u00bb  M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall a pass\u00e9 ses deux premiers mandats en tant que membre du conseil \u00e0 observer et \u00e0 \u00e9couter. Une femme qui travaillait pour une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de gestion immobili\u00e8re \u00e0 ce moment a invit\u00e9 M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall \u00e0 des ateliers et \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s de formation offertes par Logement Manitoba. Ce soutien l\u2019a \u00e9ventuellement encourag\u00e9e \u00e0 vouloir devenir pr\u00e9sidente.  Elle a \u00e9galement eu l\u2019occasion d\u2019assister \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s de formation de la FHCC. \u00abCes activit\u00e9s \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressantes et instructives\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise-t-elle. En juin dernier, la coop\u00e9rative a envoy\u00e9 deux membres de son conseil \u00e0 Victoria pour l\u2019assembl\u00e9e annuelle, ou M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall s\u2019est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au poste de repr\u00e9sentant de la communaut\u00e9 autochtone.  M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall est satisfaite des r\u00e9alisations de la coop\u00e9rative. La Payuk Co-op a r\u00e9cemment obtenu 2,175\u00a0millions de dollars dans le cadre de la Strat\u00e9gie nationale sur le logement. \u00abNous avons beaucoup travaill\u00e9 pour obtenir ces fonds\u00bb, indique-t-elle.  Les cadres de nos fen\u00eatres \u00e9taient en bois et ils pourrissaient.\u00bb La subvention a permis \u00e0 la coop\u00e9rative d\u2019installer un \u00e9clairage DEL dans les corridors et les aires communes, et d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la ventilation dans l\u2019ensemble du b\u00e2timent. La coop\u00e9rative pr\u00e9voit remplacer les fen\u00eatres et les portes des balcons, installer des ventilateurs dans les salles de bain et des hottes dans les cuisines, et remplacer l\u2019ascenseur.  Son objectif d\u2019encourager une plus grande participation des membres a \u00e9t\u00e9 une mission continuelle pour M<sup>me<\/sup> Hall, qui a organis\u00e9 des corv\u00e9es de nettoyage communautaire et qui s\u2019assure d\u2019\u00e9couter les membres qui viennent la rencontrer.  \u00abUne chose qu\u2019il est important de se rappeler\u00bb, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9, \u00abest que la seule fois o\u00f9 vous \u00eates membre du conseil c\u2019est lorsque vous si\u00e9gez dans la salle du conseil &#8211; le reste du temps, vous \u00eates des membres comme tous les autres membres. Les gens\u00a0 viennent me rencontrer, je les \u00e9coute.
